IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE - THE STAGE PLAY!
It’s time for a new Christmas tradition at the Woolton Picture House!
First, the bad news. Paramount Pictures didn’t find it in their hearts to grant us a licence to show the film version of It’s A Wonderful Life this Christmas.
Now, the great news. We have managed to secure a live stage version of the film following two years of sell out runs at Liverpool’s Royal Court! This version, based on a radio play of It’s A Wonderful Life will be at the Picture House on 22, 23 & 24 December on our new stage!
We have also added in extra screenings of Elf, Home Alone and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.
Extra performances go on sale Saturday 17 October at 10am. All upcoming event tickets are on sale here.
Remember, every time you buy a ticket, an angel gets his wings.
All of the money raised from the Christmas programme this year will go into the pot for refurbishment so come and enjoy a night out and invest in the future!
IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE - THE STAGE PLAY
22, 23 & 24 December 2026 at Woolton Picture House
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS A LIVE STAGE PLAY AND NOT A FILM
Welcome to Bedford Falls!
Christmas Eve, 1945… George Bailey, a down-on-his-luck banker, believes life has passed him by, and he’s at the end of his rope. But when his guardian angel, Clarence, appears, George is astounded to witness what life could be like without all the good deeds he’s done. Maybe it’s a wonderful life, after all?
Following a sell-out run at Liverpool’s Royal Court, Old Fruit Jar Productions’ enchanting adaptation returns in a special radio play-style performance, bringing the magic of the beloved film and stage production to life by a handful of Liverpool's best actors.
Inspired by the 1946 Frank Capra film of the same name, this feel-good classic celebrates the value of life, the power of kindness and the extraordinary impact one person can have on the lives of so many others. Rediscover the magic of Bedford Falls in a unique live experience that captures all the heart, humour and festive spirit of this timeless story.
